An embroidered beanie of your own dog

A beanie is the one hat people actually wear every day for four months of the year, which makes it a better place for your dog than almost anything else. Ours is embroidered rather than printed: your pet is turned into a stitch file and sewn into the cuff in real thread. Printed knitwear never looks right — ink sits on top of a rib and cracks along it — where stitching sits in the fabric and stays there.

How your photo becomes thread

Upload one photo and we rebuild your pet as a clean, front-facing illustrated portrait. Then we do the part most sellers leave to the factory: we convert that illustration into the six thread colours an embroidery machine can actually load, and we show you the result before you order. An embroidery machine sews one solid colour at a time, so soft shading and fine detail have to become clean blocks of colour first. Making that decision ourselves is the difference between the beanie you approved and a beanie somebody else re-coloured on your behalf.

Where the name goes

Add your pet's name and pick the layout: horizontal sits it beside the portrait and uses the width of the cuff; vertical stacks it underneath like a badge; or choose no name for just the pet, centred. The lettering is a rounded, heavy face chosen because it stitches cleanly at this size.

A knit that earns its place

50% recycled polyester and 50% acrylic in a double-layer ribbed knit — two layers of fabric between you and the weather rather than the single thin one most novelty beanies use. Classic cuffed shape, one size, with enough stretch in the rib to fit most adult heads. Eight colours: Black, Navy, Light Grey Melange, Olive, Beige, Light Blue, Mustard and Acid Green.

The person walking the dog at seven in the morning in February. A Christmas present that gets worn the same day rather than put away — and the sort of thing that starts a conversation with every other dog owner in the park.
