A Personalised Memorial Mug for Someone You Are Still Thinking About
Grief settles into ordinary places. The chair nobody sits in, the number still in your phone, the half hour on a Sunday you used to spend on the telephone. A memorial mug does not undo any of that. What it does is put them somewhere gentle and everyday — on the worktop, in your hand, first thing in the morning, which for most families is exactly when they come to mind anyway.
Upload a photograph, add their name and the years of their life, choose the words that sound right, and the whole tribute is printed on both sides of a quality 11oz ceramic mug.
Built Around One Good Photograph
The design puts the photograph at the top as a large square portrait, with their name set beneath it in an elegant serif and a fine rule between the two. Have it printed in classic black and white for a quiet, formal finish that suits a portrait of any age, or keep it in full colour where the colour is part of the memory. Crop the shot in the designer and preview the finished mug before you order — what you see is what is printed.
An old photograph is fine. Most of the pictures that end up on these are decades old, and the design prints at a modest size rather than blowing the image up, so a little grain or softness never shows. And it does not have to be a portrait of them alone — a photograph of the two of you together prints just as well, and is very often the one somebody actually wants.
Six Ways to Say It
Beneath the photograph, choose the message that fits:
- Always in our hearts
- Forever loved, forever missed
- Until we meet again
- A life beautifully lived
- In loving memory
- Gone from our sight, never from our hearts
Then add their name — Grandad Bill, Mum, Margaret, whatever you actually called them — and their dates, 1946–2024. The dates are optional, and plenty of people leave them off; the name and the words on their own read just as well.
Sending One to Somebody Else
A card is read once and put in a drawer within a fortnight. A personalised remembrance keepsake stays out on the side. The easiest photograph to use is one with both of them in it — her and her grandad, the two of them at a wedding — because that is the picture you already have, and it is hers as much as his. If you are ordering for a friend, a sibling or a parent, use a photograph the family have shared themselves, keep the wording to one of the gentler messages, and leave the dates off if you are not certain of them. It says the thing that is difficult to say out loud — that the person mattered, that you noticed, and that you remember their name.
Made Properly, Made to Be Used
Every mug is printed by dye sublimation, which bonds the design into the ceramic glaze instead of laying it on the surface. No peeling, no cracking and no fading, and it is dishwasher and microwave safe. The print wraps both sides, so the tribute faces the room whichever way the mug is put down. It is meant for the daily cup of tea, not the back of a cupboard.
Make Their Mug
Add a photograph, choose the words, put their name on it, and see the finished thing on screen in seconds. A small, ordinary, everyday place for somebody who was none of those things.
